Yellowstone was incredible. Having never driven into an active volcano before, it was quite an experience to be in such an unusual environment. We stopped for a quick pic at the entrance.
Old Faithful did not disappoint. We only had to wait about 15 minutes, and it went off.
It used to erupt once every 15-20 minutes, but the locals tell us that there was an earthquake about a year ago, and since then, it only erupts once every 45-50 minutes now.
The Inn at Old Faithful is a 6-story marvel of engineering. Imagine having to farm all of these amazing logs out of the forest in order to complete this structure. Simply incredible.
Into Grand Teton National Park we went. Straight south from Yellowstone led us into the beautiful range that would rival anything we have in Yukon.
Leaving the Tetons, we started our journey to South Dakota to see Mount Rushmore. We passed through a lovely little town in Wyoming called Dubois. They are famous for the Painted Hills. The next photo shows why.
We made our way from Wyoming into South Dakota and hit the Black Hills, home of Mount Rushmore. All I can say is that it is by far bigger and better than I could have imagined. I can see why it has been the vacation location of choice for tourists world-wide for 69 years.
After getting caught in a wicked storm, we drove back down the mountain from Mount Rushmore to spend the night in Custer. We made a direct line to Bismarck, ND the next morning. Had a great night's sleep, and made our run for the Canadian border the next day. Pretty soon, we saw what we had been waiting for.
Finally, we arrived at my brother's doorstep, exactly 6658kms from my door to his. It was a hell of a trip, and we were finally rewarded with the whole reason to come to Winnipeg. Our Godson Sawyer Shae. Worth the trip, yes? Of course.

Greetings from Bozeman MT & Update on Seattle WA
Pulled into Bozeman around 6pm local time, and found an excellent hotel right away. The day and night we spent in Seattle were awesome!! Great food, great people, and just an amazing city. Had lunch right on the wharf, fresh crab legs caught that day, as well as scallops and prawns caught that day. Exceptional. We toured around Pikes Market, and went up the Space Needle. The view was phenomenal!
After a good nights' sleep, we headed off to Post Falls, Idaho. Beautiful scenery the whole way, and this morning, headed for Bozeman.
Renata got a lovely picture of the mountains, and some nice farmland. Montana is everything I had ever heard, and more. Scenic mountains, never-ending plains, farmlands and pastures. I can see why so many americans speak so highly of its beauty. They are not exaggerating.
Well, off to bed, and tomorrow we strike out to Yellowstone National Park, the first protected park in the USA. Old Faithful awaits!!
Cheers!

Morning of Day 3 - Thursday June 17
Good Morning all !! Some really amazing driving yesterday. Renata had a tire explode on the 18-wheeler we were following, we saw the Cassiar HWY top to bottom, and put away 874 kms from Tatogga Lake Resort (1.5 hrs south of Dease Lake)to Prince George BC. Today we roll out of Prince George heading for Chilliwack, then on to Seattle Friday morning. Maybe we drive straight to Seattle tonight. Who knows? Lots of wildlife, including the picture you see here of nice mama bear and her cub.
We also enjoyed these nice goat babies - just yearlings I think, very cute.
Cheers!!

Prepping for departure !!
Tomorrow we blast out of Yukon and head down the Cassiar HWY and head to Seattle. We will try to keep the blog as up-to-date as possible, as well as post video updates to Youtube. The dashboard Web-cam was setup yesterday, and we will provide some great highway vids once we get a chance to do some video editing. Our Google map is here.
Coki (pronounced ts-oh-key) is eager to join us for our trip. He was denied, however, because there is no room in the van for a litter box.
Kindest regards Whitehorse et al, we will see you all again in the first week on July.
Cheers !
